Travel project dilema?

Does anyone else stress over what project makes the most sense to travel with? Going on an overnight trip with my daughter with time to stitch on the bus and for an overnight. What if I have 30 minutes or an little time here and there? I could be getting some stitching done! Lots of projects I'd like to take but they're just a tad too big. I could think of several little projects to start but they're at the shop and not here at home; departure is in 7 hours. I open drawers and cabinets look here and there in this pile and on this shelf. Oh my, I astonished at how many projects have been started and then there are the ones I completely forgot about. And the ones where I'd probably rather day dream than pretend to have interest in working on. So I've settled on the small cuff by Orna Willis, started in 2007. Almost seems feasible to finish on this trip. My fear like with so many other projects is I see things I don't like and want to change. Like the use of the petite red beads. No problem I can take those out and replace with something nicer. I see the pattern coming another project that gets 95% done and then it goes into purgatory. So many, so close to being finished. But isn't really about the process after all?

Melissa Shirley's Decorating Santa 12" x 23" long on 13 count canvas. Was $339.00 now $270.00 A festive Santa perfect for girl or boy of any age. Please let me know if you'd like to have this stocking kitted with threads.

Poinsettia stocking by Barbara Russell 12 1/2" x 18" long on 18 count canvas. Was $165.00 now $132.00 As with all Barbara Russell Canvases this one is stitch painted making it a joy to stitch for those who prefer basketweave. I can imagine the poinsettias in red velvets with beaded centers against a sky in midnight blue silk lame braid. An elegant and timeless holiday design with modest proportions. Please let me know if you'd like to have this stocking kitted with threads.

Elegant Santa by Lee Needlearts 12 3/4" x 22" long on 13 count canvas. Was $135.00 now $108.00 As with all Lee Canvases this one is stitch painted making it a joy to stitch for those who prefer basketweave. A feminine choice without being girlie. Melissa Shirley's Red Cottage 11 1/2" x 22" long on 13 count canvas. Was $279.00 now $225.00 A loving nostalgic scene of Santa and his 8 reindeer in front a full moon rising above a tiny cottage. Please let me know if you'd like to have this stocking kitted with threads.

Snowy Santa by Mary Lake Thompson, for Melissa Shirley, 12" x 23" long on 18 count canvas. Was $308.00 now $246.00 A peaceful and more simplistic Santa with toys for all the boys and girls. A timeless design. Please let me know if you'd like to have this stocking kitted with threads.

Young Girl stocking by Aviva 12 1/2" x 22" long on 13 count canvas. Was $135.00 now $108.00 As with all Aviva canvases this one is stitch painted making it a joy to stitch for those who prefer basketweave. What a beautiful young girl with a gentle face feeding the birds in a snowy landscape. Looks to me like she's wearing Ugg's but I wouldn't keep this from giving her a lovely upscale fur trimmed coat or maybe switching to patent leather boots or kidskin boots in applique. Please let me know if you'd like to have this stocking kitted with threads.

Finishing extravaganza featuring Kelly Clark

Look at all the beautiful items just returned by the finisher! I realized, with the exception of the candy cane (by Melissa Shirley) all items were Kelly Clark canvases. I'm so proud of my pear group stitchers for seeing through so many of these challenging gems.

More Trays, and Canvases that fit Trays

Fresh in the web store is another matt black Sudberry Tray, since the last one disappeared so fast. We've added the white-washed wood versions of the same size this time round. We pulled out two great Leigh Designs canvases to feature with them. Both great flower designs, a Pink Camellia, and a White Magnolia. All available in the web store if you click through, trays first, canvases second.

Snow White

Mostly for sparkly snow my customers are happy with Petite Sparkle Rays PS21, as some recall the one that we spent a month plus waiting anxiously for a few a few weeks ago. Then there are some who don't like having to deal with it twisting on them and then I steer them over to Kreinik knowing that 032 looks like day old snow in comparison to PS-21. But victory came this summer when Kreinik introduced the candy colors. #5760 Marshmallow is a great snow white. Shown below is #032 side by side with the newer #5760.
